The former President of India, Pranab Mukharjee has died at the age of 84. Many people describe him as the “Best Prime Minister India never had”. Recently, he was tested positive for the COVID-19, related to this, on August 10, he tweeted, “On a visit to the hospital for a separate procedure, I have tested positive for COVID-19 today. I request the people who came in contact with me in the last week, to please self-isolate and get tested for COVID-19.”

He also had surgery earlier this month for the removal of a brain clot and since that time he was on the ventilator.

Last year, Mr. Pranab Mukharjee also honored with the top civilian honor of India “Bharat Ratna” for his achievements in the Indian political and administrative works.

Pranab Mukherjee passed Away

He was a true Congressman and worked his almost entire with the Congress. During his 50 years long career, he served at some of the most important minister’s posts. In 1969, he was elected in the Rajya Sabha with the help of Indra Gandhi, and later in 2004, it was supposed that before Dr. Manmohan Singh, he was the first choice Prime Miniter, candidate when Sonia Gandhi refused to take the seat.

From 2012 to 2017, he served as the President of India and has done a phenomenal job too. Former Prime Minister, Dr. Manmohan Singh said that Mr. Mukherjee was, “correctly upset when I was made Prime Minister” and later on the launch of Pranab Mukherjee’s Book, he added, “He had a reason to feel upset but he respected me and we have a great relationship which will continue till we live.”

Expressing his emotion on the death of former President of India, PM Narendra Modi tweeted, “India grieves the passing away of Bharat Ratna Pranab Mukherjee. He has left an indelible mark on the development trajectory of our nation. A scholar par excellence, he was admired across the political spectrum & by all section of society.”
