The ex-president and Bharat Ratna honored Pranab Mukherjee breathed last on Monday. He was not well for the past few weeks and admitted to the Army’s Research and Referral hospital in Delhi. His health weakened from suffering a septic shock because of lung infection. He was admitted to the Army hospital in Delhi on 10th August and he was tested positive for COVID-19 on the same day. He went through with the brain surgery last month and had been in a coma after the surgery.
The last rites of Pranab Ji held today at 2 PM in Delhi. The dead body has been reached to his residence at Raja Ji marg. The center has decided 7 days mourn in the memory of Pranab Mukherjee. His last rites took place at Lodhi Crematorium under COVID-19 restrictions. Pranab Mukherjee Died at 84
Former President laid to rest at Lodhi crematorium with full military honors
He was laid to rest with the military honor. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, Pranab Mukherjee’s remains were brought in a van instead of a gun carriage. The news was confirmed by Pranab Ji’s son Abhishek Mukherjee who penned with a heavy heart, his father is no more in spite of the best efforts of R & R hospital’s doctors and also the prayers of the Indians.
The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, was one of those who paid tribute to the legend first. He wrote, he was blessed to have him and his guidance was something which really helped him since he entered the office. Many big personalities are paying tribute to him and condolence his family.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson says, in the 50 years career of Pranab Mukherjee in politics, he played a pivotal role in the relationship between China and India. It comes as a loss to China and India friendship, and especially to India.
